Former Chestermere Mayor Jeff Colvin was fired alongside three city councillors and three top administrators. He is accused of spending more than $8,500 on food and alcohol using a city-issued credit card in just four months. According to a report by an official administrator, some of these expenses were made during business hours, and it is unclear who attended these meals. Colvin claims he did not misuse the card and blamed the mix-up on one occasion. He and the dismissed councillors are seeking an injunction to pause their dismissal. A forensic audit of the city is planned, and they plan to run in the byelection if their legal challenges fail.
