Former Chestermere mayor Jeff Colvin and three dismissed councillors have alleged a conspiracy involving Alberta’s Municipal Affairs minister, the RCMP, and others aimed at their ouster. They have filed an injunction to pause their dismissal order, citing lack of procedural fairness in the municipal inspection that led to their dismissals. Colvin claims bias on the minister’s part and collusion among various parties to get them fired. They are seeking a judicial review of the dismissal order and plan to run in a byelection if unsuccessful. Colvin also alleges false charges pursued by the RCMP and is working on a website to release evidence of their claims.
