The City of Chestermere has won a court ruling for a judicial review of a recent investigation into its governance. The court ordered the government to provide evidence that led to the inspection, which found irregularities and resulted in directives for the city. The city has contested the findings, and the judge ordered the province to provide an affidavit by Nov. 1 explaining the evidence’s status. Mayor Jeff Colvin emphasized the importance of procedural fairness and stopping potential abuses of power by Municipal Affairs. The case is set to return to court on Nov. 6.
